Step 1-

Wyandotte County elementary schools (District 500) teachers and nurses identify children who are at risk for needing glasses or have other eye problems.

Step 2-

About 150 kids each year come to Family Health Care for a more detailed screening through JayDoc & KU Eye and those that need glasses go to step 3. Those with identified eye problems that require follow-up are referred to Children's Mercy Hospital.

Step 3-

Dr. Curran and crew help the kids chose free frames, have the prescribed lenses made and fit them.

Step 4-

Glasses are fitted after they are produced.
